Support
the Museum
From the Director
As a privately-funded non-government institution, the Museum relies
on the generosity of its members, friends and corporate sponsors
to support the full range of our functions and work. Your contribution
will help us to meet the substantial costs of our daily operations
and provides critical support for new exhibitions, education, acquisitions,
conservation, scholarship and publications, archaeology and preservation
schemes, lasting endowments and capital projects.
Whether a donation to the Museum’s annual appeal fund, exhibition
sponsorship, capital project backing, or an endowed gift, there
are many ways to financially support the Museum.
Supporters can donate directly to the Museum in Bermuda, or via
the overseas funds of the Friends of the Bermuda Maritime Museum,
Inc. (USA), or the Bermuda Maritime Museum Trust (UK).
To inquire about giving to the Museum, please contact me on 1-441-234-1333
ext.222, or preferably by email at directorbmm@logic.bm.
Please join us and help ensure all the good work of the Museum continues.
Thank you very much for your kind consideration and support.
Dr. Edward C. Harris, mbe, jp, fsa

Museum. The Museum was institutionally sealed under a 1978 Act of
Parliament and is Bermuda Registered Charity No. 136. The Association’s
Board of Trustees is composed of professionals from the local community

The Friends of the Bermuda Maritime Museum was established in 1982
and incorporated in the State of Delaware as a 501(c)(3) organisation.
Its purpose is to raise funds for approved capital projects and
accept other donations for the Bermuda Maritime Museum, other maritime
museums and sea scout organisations in the region. Donations are
generally tax deductible by those subject to US income taxation.
It usually meets twice a year in Bermuda and on other occasions
in the United States. Most of its Directors are Americans who have
strong connections with Bermuda over many years.

The Bermuda Maritime Museum Trust was established in London in 1985
and has charitable status under UK law. Its purpose is to assist
in the raising of funds for approved capital projects and to accept

majority of its Trustees are residents of the UK who have a long-term
interest in Bermuda and the preservation of its heritage. It meets
at least once a year in London and the Executive Director and other
